Project QC Lead

SUMMARY

The Project QC Lead’s role is to perform verification of in process shop fabrication dimensions based on shop drawings and specifications, perform visual weld inspections, and document control.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES                                                                                                         

  • Support all TTI/FSS Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed
    • Verifies conformance of product to shop drawings and contract requirements through:
    • Dimensional checks with Tape measure to drawings.
    • Visual inspection of welds
    • Generates inspection records and provides input to Corporate QA Manager for records as required
    • Ability to listen, learn and follow directions
    • Aptitude for reading and understanding drawings
    • Aptitude for using a calculator for minor calculations
    • Ability to walk and work in a shop open air environment
    • Understanding of and concern for a safe working environment.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Candidate must have previous supervisory experience with ability to lead, direct and delegate with a hands on approach.
  • Possess keen attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years in notable steel fabrication in a QC or structural fitter capacity
  • Possess basic Microsoft skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • NDT and CWI certifications desired but not a requirement.

REPORTING & COORDINATION

  • Reports directly to Corporate QA Manager
  • Coordinates with facility superintendent and other QC technicians.
