We’re looking for a full-time, Junior Estimator who is proficient in reading blueprints and shop drawings. Pay rate is $15.00-$20.00 per hour, dependent on experience. The Junior Estimator is an entry level position which can lead to opportunities as a Construction Estimator and/or into Project Management. The right candidate will work as part of our Estimating Team and will benefit from continual training from fellow Estimators with over 50 years of experience in our specialty field of construction. The Junior Estimator can achieve a working knowledge of Estimating along with a complete understanding of Estimating procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews RFQ’s (Requests for Quotes)
  • Promptly reviews all Revisions & Addendums
  • Insures that the bid is submitted on time, using the client’s preferred transmission media: portal, e-mail, over-night delivery, etc.
  • Prepares complete take-offs using drawings and specifications.
  • Provides accurate take-offs to ensure a competitive pricing, while maintaining company profitability
  • Reviews project documents to determine cost estimations, including material costs, labor costs, equipment costs, general conditions, and any other costs applicable to the project scope of work
  • Provides accurate bids to general contractors and developers
  • Ensures customer’s satisfaction and manages relationships for future referrals
  • Resolves discrepancies and issues, as needed
  • Maintains well-documented project records in company computer system (e.g., electronic communications, and approvals, etc.)
  • Inputs take-offs into Fabsuite.


  • Entry Level Position: 0-2 years construction related experience, preferred.
  • Education: A.A. degree in Building Construction or A.S. degree in Architectural Design and Construction Technology, required. Can also be a 3rd or 4th Semester Student in school for an A.A. degree in Building Construction or an A.S. degree in Architectural Design and Construction Technology, required or in process.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and shop drawings, required
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, required. Data Entry skills required.
  • Steel experience a PLUS
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills and a demonstrated ability to follow through on all projects tasks and/or assignments.
  • Superior attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines, produce quality finished work, documents and maintain impeccable documentation.
  • Willingness to learn, team player, and works well with others.
  • Proven self-starter who is eager to learn about the construction industry
  • Previous estimating experience is a plus
  • Previous FabSuite experience is a plus

Assistant Shop Superintendent

We currently have an open position for an assistant shop superintendent. The ideal candidate must posses the following experience and skill level.

The primary function of the assistant Shop Superintendent is to direct all fabrication and production in the area or on the project assigned, with a focus on safety and quality, by following the directives given by Superintendent. Lead assigned shop personnel and manage productivity and shortfalls by communicating needs to Superintendent.

This position reports directly to the Shop Superintendent and will work closely with all other Shop Foreman and Leadmen to meet safety, quality and production expectations.

Essential Functions: 

  • Support all TTI/FSS Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed.
  • Manage and direct all personnel assigned with a focus on Safety, Quality and production. 
  • Communicate equipment and personnel needs to meet production levels to the Superintendent
  • Review all drawings on the jobs assigned and know and understand what work  will be in fabrication on the floor and follow the plan directed by the Superintendent for how and what to fabricate.
  • Know all shop personnel and their attributes to plan for most productive placement of shop personnel. 
  • Ensure the assigned area or job is adequately staffed for all shifts to meet production needs by communicating needs to the Superintendent.
  • Coordinate with Facility Maintenance Manager for area/job maintenance needs to ensure equipment down time has a limited effect on production and inform Superintendent of any concerns.
  • Understand and follow all QC hold points and inspection requirements.
  • Ensure shop employees follow all shop procedures and company policies while meeting production goals. 
  • Inform Superintendent of any issues that will affect production, quality or safety.
  • Coach and develop all shop personnel and determine what training they require and what position they can fill that will benefit the shop the most and relay information to Superintendent.
  • Take responsibility for all shop tools and equipment assigned.
  • Share shop resources with all Foreman based on project urgency. 

Quality Standards 

Must be able to read and understand drawings and cultists. Will ensure all established fabrication procedures are followed.


Team work is essential in this position and Shop Foreman must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with all staff.

Actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture while working closely with safety department. 


An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner.  The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

The Shop Foreman must have a background in supervision, fabrication, production planning and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Education and/or Experience 

High School education and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in fabrication or other Supervisory roles. 

Language Skills

The Shop Foreman must communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments and managers. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
