Structural Steel/Pipe Fitter

TTI-FSS is currently looking for a structural steel fitter with Pipe fitting experience. Ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience and be able to read and understand more complex prints and fit from drawings more complex assemblies. A TTI-FSS Structural Steel Fitter is responsible for utilizing drawings to fit and assemble structural steel products for a variety of industrial projects. This position will participate in the layout and assembly of a multitude of structural components for steel fabrication. 

SKILLS

Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, time management, stress tolerance. Ability to multitask. Keen eye for safety and efficiency. Strong background in blueprint reading. 

Job requires lifting and walking all day in indoor, Fabrication shop environments. Full time position of minimum of 40 hours.

Quality Standards 

Must be able to read and understand drawings, codes and specifications. Will ensure all established fabrication procedures are followed.

Teamwork 

Team work is essential in this position. Candidate must have a positive attitude and be able to work effectively with co-workers and supervision. Must adhere to all TTI/FSS safety values and procedures, actively participate in Safety meetings and promote company safety culture.  

Qualifications 

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner.  The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

High School education and a minimum of five years’ experience in the fabrication industry

Facility Maintenance Technician

TTI-FSS is now hiring for a facilities maintenance technician.  Normal responsibilities will include preventive maintenance and working with facility maintenance manager on equipment that needs repair on a day to day basis.

Essential Functions: 

  • Support all TTI/FSS Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to coordinate repair of equipment based on production’s needs and safety.
  •  Ensure that all equipment is repaired to original safety standards.
  • Use established procedure of equipment repair requests/Tag Procedure.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on shop and yard equipment 

Quality Standards

  • Must be able to understand maintenance manuals, codes and diagrams

Teamwork 

  • Actively participate in all Safety meetings.
  • Work with and cooperate with all foremen and maintenance personnel.

Qualifications 

  • An individual must be able to perform each essential duty above average and always represent the company in a professional manner.  The requirements listed are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • This position will work with the Facility Maintenance Manager, and Shop Foremen in a Continuous Improvement Environment with a focus on Safety, People, Quality and Cost Controls.
  • Must have a good knowledge and understanding of electrical, hydraulics, welding and burning equipment, plumbing, compressors, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, forklifts, and trucks and trailers.

Education and/or Experience 

  • High School education and a minimum of three years experience or equivalent education

Language Skills 

  • The Maintenance Foreman must communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments and foremen.

Assistant Shop Superintendent

Looking for an exciting career in the structural steel, bridge and above ground storage tank industry? Tampa Tank/Florida Structural Steel is looking for you. We currently have an open position for an assistant shop superintendent. The ideal candidate must posses the following experience and skill level.

The primary function of the assistant Shop Superintendent is to direct all fabrication and production in the area or on the project assigned, with a focus on safety and quality, by following the directives given by Superintendent. Lead assigned shop personnel and manage productivity and shortfalls by communicating needs to Superintendent.

This position reports directly to the Shop Superintendent and will work closely with all other Shop Foreman and Leadmen to meet safety, quality and production expectations.

Essential Functions: 

  • Support all TTI/FSS Company Safety Policies to ensure they are followed.
  • Manage and direct all personnel assigned with a focus on Safety, Quality and production. 
  • Communicate equipment and personnel needs to meet production levels to the Superintendent
  • Review all drawings on the jobs assigned and know and understand what work  will be in fabrication on the floor and follow the plan directed by the Superintendent for how and what to fabricate.
  • Know all shop personnel and their attributes to plan for most productive placement of shop personnel. 
  • Ensure the assigned area or job is adequately staffed for all shifts to meet production needs by communicating needs to the Superintendent.
  • Coordinate with Facility Maintenance Manager for area/job maintenance needs to ensure equipment down time has a limited effect on production and inform Superintendent of any concerns.
  • Understand and follow all QC hold points and inspection requirements.
  • Ensure shop employees follow all shop procedures and company policies while meeting production goals. 
  • Inform Superintendent of any issues that will affect production, quality or safety.
  • Coach and develop all shop personnel and determine what training they require and what position they can fill that will benefit the shop the most and relay information to Superintendent.
  • Take responsibility for all shop tools and equipment assigned.
  • Share shop resources with all Foreman based on project urgency.

The Shop Foreman must have a background in supervision, fabrication, production planning and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Education and/or Experience 

High School education and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in fabrication or other Supervisory roles. 

Language Skills

The Shop Foreman must communicate in a professional manner and show respect both orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, other departments and managers. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
